For all of you out there that have moved into a house recently or even to you who have lived in your house for a long time...Have you ever wondered what exactly is in your vents, ducts, etc...? Me either. That is until we moved into this house. It seems to be never ending the treasures we seem to find when we venture to the next room to clean. It all happened when we were just moving in and Chad and his dad were ripping up the old stained carpet in Trevor's room. They had to take the vent off to remove the carpet. Much to their surprise there was a little toddler boy's boot. A BOOT? Don't you think they'd miss that? Then that got our minds whirling to find out what else we could find. So we searched...well, Chad searched. He used his hands, flashlights, the vacuum cleaner...whatever we could find to reach as far down as we could. What were our findings you ask? Well, there was a variety of things ranging from dirt clots, old dried huge pieces of grout, dog food, bottles, dog chew toys, sippys, rocks...the list goes on and on. I am so sad that I didn't think to take pictures of all of our findings. But I did on this particular day. Chad decided to clean the return vents and low and behold...MORE TREASURE!!! As he reached all the way down to the bottom of the almost 3 foot drop he managed to pull out 2 VHS tapes, "Fried Green Tomatoes" and "El Dorado". He also pulled out a little toddler girls t-shirt, jacket and pants. You have to see it to believe it.I'm hoping to one day find some stashed away money or jewels or something worth something. For right now we're striking out as far as pirates go. So take a look and maybe then you'll want to search your vents to find out exactly what may be hiding in you duct work.

This is Josh: Chad always had a way of finding things. btw... he is also very good at cleaning! I learned that during our days at Pineview. It was great to see you guys in Aug. Take Care
An entire OUTFIT!!! I'm perplexed. How do kids even get into the return vents? I mean you do actually have to SCREW them off, right? What the....? Maybe it was the work of one of the parents: The wife's mad at the husband and thinks, "I told him to get baby Sarah dressed in that specific outfit and absolutely nothing else. If I hide it in the return vent he'll spend the entire morning looking for it and miss his tee-time altogether."

Why does this make me laugh so hard? It really is quite disturbing. I have found little items in my vents like leftover easter grass, bits of paper, maybe a hair roundy...but a whole outfit? and 2 VHS TAPES?
Keep searching...Maybe they were really good about food storage and you'll find a year supply in the dryer vents!!!!
