Cami June is Turning SIX!!

My Cam Jam is turning six today. I can't believe that she's six! She is growing up so fast. She loves to play soccer and she's really good at it. She averages about 4 goals a game. She likes riding her bike and she likes playing with all the kiddos from our neighborhood. I can't believe how fast she's growing up. Slow down Cami!

Dear Cami,

We are so proud of the lady you are becoming. You are such a good girl. We love how you are always willing to share whatever it is that you have. You always want everyone to feel included. We love how you are always cleaning up and surprising us and your brother and sisters by making our beds or cleaning up our rooms. You are so sweet. We admire how willing you are to give to anyone and help anyone no matter how much it costs you. You are a wonderful girl and we are so blessed to have you in our family. You are such a wonderful addition and you add so much laughter and happiness. We love you Cami. We hope that you have a great birthday and an even better year. Continues being a big helper and continue being a friend to everyone and share your light to all you meet. You are such a great example. You are such a sweetie and we love you so much. Back To School!

August 22 was the first day of school for us. Riley started the fourth grade this year. WOW! I can't believe that she is actually in fourth grade. She has Mrs. Astle and she loves her and her classmates. Cami started kindergarten and she was so excited and so READY! She could not wait for school to start. She had her testing on that first Wednesday and then her first real day of school was on the 29. She has her good friend and next door neighbor Luke in her class. They are so cute together. Her teachers name is Mrs. Thurgood and she loves her. She is a really GREAT teacher. I can't believe I have two kids in school. It's been crazy. I miss them while their gone, but I'm so excited to have them learn so many new things. Hooray for another school year.

Abby, Tucker, Alyssa, Carly, Riley, Mia, Luke and Cami. This is the neighborhood crew that walk together every morning. I love it. They are all such good kiddos.

Slip and Slide + Two Crazy Primary Leaders= One Fun Time

We had our End of Summer ward party a few weeks ago and the primary's job was to get the water games set up. So we got a dunk tank and we also had a GIANT slip and slide. My friend Lisa, who is also the primary president, has this slip and slide that is just a giant piece of plastic and you hose it down and then slide on it. I had been wanting to slide on it from the moment I saw it. It was a hot evening and it just looked so fun, but I kept myself away from it worrying I'd make a fool of myself. When the party was almost over, Lisa came up to me and asked me if I wanted to run across the slip and slide. I said "YES!" right away and started kicking off my flip flops. She said "whoa I was just kidding.I didn't think you'd really want to do it!" I told her of course I did and she said she really wanted to too. I said let's slide on it though. I wanted to see how far I could go. So away we went, sprinting towards the slide, knocking children out of the way as we went. I dove head first onto the slide and Lisa did a baseball slide. We went one more time and that was all it took. We were drenched and it was so fun. I'm so happy that Lisa wanted to do that, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to try it.

Me and Lisa after we got wet. This picture doesn't do it justice.

Nice "Contraption" Chad!

We have bad luck with drains. Our history is not good. We have yet to meet a drain that can withstand the demands we put on it. We have no idea what we do to clog them, but we always manage to slow the flow.Well after many tries with draino to clear the drain, we just weren't getting the results we wanted. The drain was still so S-L-O-W! So Chad had me go get a new P Trap and then he got to work. He unhooked the pipes and found the clog or rather just gunk that had built up. He didn't have the tools necesary, so the engineer in him took over and he fashioned himself his own tool made with the things that were under the sink in the bathroom. When Riley and I came in to see how it was going we saw this...

Chad had made a drain clearing device made from a pencil and a tampon and duct tape. Riley asked Chad what he was doing and why he was using a tampon. He told her he needed something long to push the clog out of the drain. She said, "Nice contraption Dad!" we all laughed. It worked though and really that's all that matters.

Take Me Out To the Ball Game!!

We usually go to watch the Ogden Raptors baseball game once a summer. It is usually on a night they call Military Night and all the military people get tickets to go for free. The kids had fun and it was a pretty good game. The temperature that night was perfect. I love going to these games and spending time together as a family.

Of course we got nachos. Who goes to a game and doesn't get nachos? Not the Kings!
This was Paityn's reaction when she saw Oggie the raptor coming her way.
