Rexburg continued....

We went and saw our old apartments to show the kids where we used to live. We remembered them being run down a bit but not like this. We had to laugh when we pulled up into the ghettos that were once our humble abodes. There were men working on the rooms in my apartment building. My apartment happened to be opened and had just received a fresh coat of paint and a new slab of carpet. I couldn't resist going in. It brought back so many memories. ( waking up to Nancy's freakin alarm clock, Getting ready next to Fister every morning, Walking with crutches up and down the stairs for two days, Being locked out of my apartment wearing nothing but a towel and being told that in order to be let back in I had to sing I'm a little teapot for all to hear...) What a fun time. Then I had to attempt the super woman pose on the railing that I used to do...I quickly realized that it is quite a hard thing to do while pregnant so I had to cheat a bit. It was fun though to visit and remember the way things used to be and the fun times I had in those run down apartments.

Mesa Falls

Check out the rainbow... I LOVE rainbows!!!

We decided to take a trip to Idaho this last Friday and Saturday. Now I know most of you are saying..."Why in the world would you take a vacation to Idaho?" First of all it was only a two day trip...short and sweet. We left on Friday when Riley got home from school and we came back on Saturday and got home at dinner time...SHORT. We wanted, well Chad wanted, to take the kids up to Rexburg to show them where we went to school and lived and played basketball. So we got to Idaho Falls at 5:00 on Friday and had dinner and swam and after complaining FOUR TIMES about a smoke detector that would not stop chirping, the hotel finally switched us rooms and we were able to go to sleep. The next morning we headed up to Mesa Falls. If you haven't ever been...you should. It was an awesome sight. I had only been there once before and it was freezing cold and snowy so needless to say I wasn't enthusiastic about the scenery. After that we went back to Rexburg and met up with our old friends the Scott's. We ate lunch and let the kids play at the park. There was a splash park nearby and the kids could not resist making an appearance there. After a short visit we made our way through the town of Rexburg. It has changed so much but still was able to bring back good memories (Barronessa Apartments, roomates, Boys singing outside of our apartment I assume to me, winning basketball games...) and bad memories (Slipping and falling on the ice, sliding off the road, basketball conditioning, yelling coaches, the testing center...I literally gagged when I passed the testing center on campus on Saturday...). It's crazy how time has changed so many things and yet so many things stay the same. One thing is for sure, and that is the spirit that you feel while on the campus of Ricks College is a never changing feeling. It was fun to go back and remember how things used to be.

Biking To School

Riley, Carley and Alyssa
The good thing about living so close to the elementary school is that now Riley can ride her bike to school with her friends. The first time her friends came to pick her up and said they were going to be riding their bikes to school that day, I have to admit that I was a little worried. But then I realized that the school is right around the corner and she won't have to cross any streets. So she rides her bike to school and locks it up with her friends' bikes and then after school she cruises on home with the same group of friends. It's been great and very cute to watch.

Little Boy + Multi Colored push up = Big Mess

Look at this kid!!He loves doing things by himself so we stripped him down and gave him his push up and he did the rest. Look at how happy he is. Don't you just want to give him a bath and squeeze him?

First day of school

Riley is a big 2nd GRADER!!! Holy cow!. Monday was her first day of school. She definately had some first day gitters, especially with it being a new school and a new teacher and new kids. Luckily when we got to the school that first day and walked into her classroom she recognized some kids from our ward and her primary class. She even sits right next to a little girl from her primary class. So that was a relief and Riley ended up having a great first day of school.

The traditional first day of school picture...look at how cute she is

This is her at her desk with all of her new things...folders, crayons, books, and even a gatorade and a snack!! (check out the kids in the back...don't they look so excited to be there)

This is the inside of Riley's classroom door. The theme is Superstars...or something like that... and Riley was so excited because one of the songs they get to sing in their clas is "we're all in this together" from Highschool Musical.

Science Experiment

This is a science experiment we performed while in California on vacation. We got a two liter of diet coke and a pack of mint Mentos and the party starts when the two combine. The kids wanted to make a volcano affect so Chad burried the bottle and then added the Mentos. Mckay, Jacob, Cara, Cami and Riley all watched close by. Check out Cara's face...is she scared or what?

Can anyone say MODEL

These are few snapshots we grabbed of the girls after church one day. Check out the poses!!

Riley's Tonsillectomy

Riley had her tonsils and Adenoids taken out on the 17th. We were very impressed with how calm she was and how well she reacted to everything afterwards. She was a champ. She hardly even cried. The only thing she complained about was not being able to eat the foods that she wanted. I thought I had us all stocked up with goodies she could enjoy. Boy was I wrong. But we got through and she is healing great and was even ready to go back to school the next Monday. Way to go Riley. You're one tough cookie.

Camping for the 24th

I know this is late and out of order but I still should put it in here right? We went camping with Chad's family over the 24th weekend. I should say that Chad Riley and Cami went camping. Trev and I went up for playing and dinner and then came home. We had fun though. The kids didn't seem to be bothered by the FREEXING cold water. Here are some pics.

It's a GIRL!!!

Here she is!!! We went in on Thursday the 13th and had our big ultrasound. We found out that baby number 4 will be a girl. I guess we know how to make girls better then boys. We were a little bummed but so excited. Another girl will be such a great addition to our family. Everything about her is perfect. She's measuring within a day of the due date which is January 1...I'm shooting for before Christmas. She is growing great and all is well.

A Few More Pics

The little girls had the job of welcoming committe...They were in charge of taking people's gifts for Katie and putting them on the gift table. They LOVED it!!
All the sisters went and got a pedicure two days before the wedding. So naturally we had to take a picture of all of our BEAUTIFUL toes!

Gone Fishin'

We all went Fishing in the afternoon after Katie's big day of going to the temple for the first time. We had all the grandkids in attendance and it was a blast. I was surprised at how many fish were in these ponds. All we had to do was stick our pole in the water and leave the hook in there. Then throw a handful of food in the water and the fish would scramble and go crazy. We caught three fish and none of them were in the mouth. They never actually bit the hook. They jumped around so much that they got caught on the hook on their side. It was crazy. The kids all had fun and made some memories.

Here's one of the fish that we caught.

Trevor was unsure of the little fishy but finally braved a stroke of the slimy little little sucker

Trevor caught his very first fish... he didn't know what to think!!

Cami's turn to catch a fish... good catch Cam!!

Riley caught her first fish too and she did it without much help at all !!

We had a great time and were able to add yet another great memory to the bunch!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
