Swimming in the pond

While we were in California, we spent A LOT of time swimming in the pond. It was so hot and the temperature of the pond was oh so right. The kids were swimming all day.Trev spent his time playing in the sand.Pait was either in the house asleep or sitting in the saucer. We LOVE going to Cali to swim and enjoy the sunshine AND visit with family.

Go Cart Fun

One morning while in California, Riley wanted to try taking this little go cart down the hill. So she did. She had a blast doing it too. She got a little squirrely but was able to recover nicely. Crazy times on the ranch.

Start at the top of the hill...

Get going at an accelerated speed...

Turn towards gravel to slow down...

End with a smile!!

Cliff Jumping

We were all packed up and ready to leave the flaming gorge camp site when we went looking for our girls. We found them down on the other side of Katie and Scott's camp site on the edge of a cliff watching some cousins jump off of said cliff. Riley and Cami both wanted to do it. We had already packed up everyone's suits. So I hiked back up to the car and found the girls' suits and floaty. As I was getting out of the car I asked myself why don't I jump too? What the heck was my reply. So i put my suit on and so did Chad and we both went back down to the cliff. We got the suits on the girls and I proceeded to not look at the water underneath but to just take off running and jump in. It was AWESOME. Next Riley and Cami did it and they loved it and did it again and again. Next Chad. He did not have the same technique as me. He walked to the edge and peered down. Backed up waited a second or too and launched himself off into the water. We did it a few more times and finally dragged ourselves and the kids away from the cliff and into the car with wet clothes and off we took for the ride home. What a great time we had though.

Riley jumping off into the water where Katie was waiting... This little cliff was probably 5 feet out of the water...Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Cami's turn...She surprised me the most

Raftin Down the Green River

In July we went to Flaming Gorge. I have more pictures to post then these but I need to gather them all together from family. But this was by far the highlight of the trip. We went rafting down the green river. It was freezing cold but felt so good because it was hot out. It took three hours to raft down 7 miles of river. There weren't too many rapids and the rapids there were weren't too rapid. Cami wasn't sure if she wanted to go or stay at camp. I insisted that she come and now looking back I wish I would have had her stay with grandma. She was so scared the entire three hours. Tears and cries of horror through the seven miles of water. I could not get her to relax. Trev and Ri did awesome. Trev even would put his hands up in the air over the rapids and say "WEEEE!!!" But when Cam would cry out of fear, Trev would get a little freaked out. We wanted to participate in the many water fights going on around us but Cami would not have any part of that. She cried harder. So we decided that the next time down we would not take Cami. Riley was a trooper. She even took the ore and paddled for us. We were in the same raft as the Calls. Daniel, Kim and Landon. They were hilarious and added some humor to the trip. We had so much fun!

Cami, Me, Ri and Trev getting ready to go...Cami was freaking out already and we weren't even by the water.

Here we all are on the river. Cami is smiling through her tears

This is how we were the whole trip. Cami and Trev clinging to my side and my leg

I took this picture of Cam and Trev both crying in fear as we were going over the rapid. They were not happy that I left them in the middle of the rapids to take a pic.

The whole family minus Pait who was with Grandma back at camp

Ride em Cowboy

So this is out of order a little but I have to post it. The day before Riley's baptism, I thought it'd be a good idea to take all the kids to ride horses. I have some friends in our ward, Brett and Allyson, and her parents own quite a few horses. They said they'd love to have us come. So we went over and rode for a bit. It was a BLAST. We had so much fun. None of the adults were going to ride until I got on and rode TJ. I have been on a horse once in my whole life. I had no idea how to do it. Cowboy Brett gave me a quick lesson and handed me the reigns. Away I went. I got a little scared when TJ decided to trot. But recovered well. Chad rode TJ too and he had a fun time as well. He did better then me though and I vowed to that would not last long. My brother Nate and sister in law Jenny both rode as well. We had a great time and enjoyed ourselves...and the dust. Thanks Ally and Brett. We really appreciate it.

Cami was a little shy at first but she did it and had fun

Riley climbed on and by the end of the night she was trotting around the place
